In June, headline inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained at 6.4 percent, the same as in May. Month-on-month, the index increased by 0.7 percent, with only food and non-alcoholic beverages recording a significant increase (2.7 percent). Other categories where indices rose include furnishing, household equipment and maintenance and transport (both 0.4 percent). For all the other items, either marginal declines were recorded or there were no movements in the indices.
The trimmed mean measure of core inflation was 6.1 percent in June, up 0.2 percent from 5.9 percent in May. Excluding the impact of administered prices, inflation was 6.8 percent, an increase of 0.3 percent from 6.5 percent.
